(2023) | Lead Rigging Artist, Rigging Artist
Red Hat Ringo is a western short film following a group of bandits planning a bank robbery, only to be interrupted by the legend of the mysterious Red Hat Ringo. This project marked Nick’s first role as a 3D Rigging Artist, later stepping into a Lead Rigging position.
The production was built around an Unreal Engine pipeline, presenting unique challenges in ensuring compatibility between Maya rigs and real-time animation tools. Nick focused on optimizing rigs for performance and functionality within Unreal, while adapting traditional rigging workflows to suit an interactive rendering environment. Through Red Hat Ringo, Nick gained a strong understanding of Unreal Engine integration and developed technical problem-solving skills essential for modern animation production.
